Emmanuel Lutheran Church

Emmanuel Lutheran Church invites everyone to gather for Sunday worship at 10:30 a.m. Interim Pastor Paul Anderson will preside. Fellowship follows directly after worship in the fellowship hall with cookies, coffee, punch and conversation. Nursery care is provided for children infant to age three.

Mark your calendars for our annual Vacation Bible School beginning Monday, July 27, through Friday, July 31. Emmanuel will again join St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church to teach our communities' children at two sites. St. Rose will teach preschool children ages 3 to 5 years of age from 9:30-11:30 a.m. Emmanuel Lutheran will teach children who will be entering grades 1-6 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Lunch will not be provided, so please pack your child a daily lunch. Camp Lutherhaven staff will once again lead Emmanuel's VBS. Donations for VBS are $8 per child at St Rose, and $20 per child at Emmanuel. If you have any questions, please contact the church office at 235-6300 Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to noon.

Weekly schedule: Sunday, June 28 – 9 a.m. adult education, 10:30 a.m. worship, 11:30 a.m. fellowship; Monday June 29: 6:30 p.m. Al-Anon; Tuesday June 29: 6 p.m. VBS Shepherds meeting.

Cheney United Church of Christ

Another school year has ended and the more leisurely time of summer is here. Thus, church on Sunday is treasured more as it brings structure and order to us. It is good to see the usual members, follow the familiar order and sing the well-known hymns.

It is also the time that committees have new members and meeting and getting together plans for another year of good things at UCC. Our church is at 623 N. Sixth St. invites you to attend our services.

Sunday worship service begins at 10 a.m. with Rev. Debi Hasdorff presiding. Lelia Smith provides music and Morag Stewart is liturgist. It is an all-family service, childcare is available if parents desire. Following the service, all are invited to conversation with refreshments in the fellowship hall.

The popular men's breakfast meets next Sunday, June 28, at 7:45 a.m. at Willow Springs Restaurant. Scripture, discussion and food are all important to the men who attend this session.

United Methodist Church

Friday night is scrap-booking time. Bring a project and a friend to the United Methodist Church at 5 p.m. and enjoy the fellowship while doing your favorite craft. The fun will wrap up about 10 a.m.

Please join us for Sunday morning worship at Cheney United Methodist Church; 204 Fourth St. Summer worship is at 9:50 a.m. with one service only. A representative from the Gideons will bring the morning message this Sunday and tell about their ministry. Childcare is provided during the worship and a time of fellowship follows the service.

On Sunday, July 5, we will welcome our new pastor, the Rev. Terry Hall. During the transition, retired pastor Rev. Dr. George Abrams will be on call.
