A Level III sex offender has registered a new home address in the zero hundred block of Fifth Street in Cheney, Spokane County Sheriff's Office sex crimes investigators report.
Shawn De Nelson was convicted of first-degree child molestation in Grays Harbor, Wash., in 1995. His victim was a 4-year-old female that he was babysitting.
Although he attended treatment, his treatment team deemed him a high risk to sexually re-offend. He is no longer under supervision by the Department of Corrections.
Nelson is a 34-year-old white male who is 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighs 170 pounds. He has brown hair and blue eyes, and has tattoos on his shoulders and forearm.
Shawn De Nelson is not wanted by law enforcement at this time, although Level III sex offenders are considered those most likely to re-offend based on their known criminal history.
This community safety notification is made only in the belief that informed citizenry creates safer neighborhoods. Use of this information to harass, threaten or intimidate registered sex offenders will not be tolerated.
