James L. Powers, 57, passed away unexpectedly on April 24 at his home on Mission Lake near Bremerton, Wash. Born Dec. 15, 1951 in Greeley, Colo., Powers moved to Cheney with parents Walter and Myrtle in 1954. He traveled around the world with the family in 1962. Powers attended the American Military Dependent School for two years in Korea, and returned to Campus School in Cheney. During his freshman year he attended Newcastle Grammar School in England and eventually graduated from Cheney High School in 1970.
