County releases Clear Lake man facing manslaughter charges for wife's death

At the request of Spokane County Prosecutors Office, John Klein of Clear Lake was released from Spokane County Jail on Feb. 10 after being arrested for second-degree manslaughter. Detectives continue their investigation into the death of his wife Pia, who died Feb. 9 after lying 10 weeks on the floor of the couple's Clear Lake home.

The cause of death is unknown at this time, and the decision to press charges against Klein, 82, will be made by county prosecutors once results from an autopsy are complete. Spokane County Sheriff's Office Sgt. Dave Reagan said that...
