Cheney Police Department finishes 2008 under budget

The Cheney Police Department finished the year almost $54,708 under budget for 2008 despite struggles earlier in the year.

According to the December Monthly Accountability Review (MAR), the department finished the year almost $3,847 over budget in vehicle maintenance and almost $8,550 over budget in fuel costs. Overtime expenses finished with a $1,082 surplus, despite accruing a large deficit early in 2008.

“We took a really big financial hit in overtime on February of this last year,” Cmdr. Rick Campbell said.
