The TMDL (Total Maximum Daily Load) process for WRIA 43, Upper Crab Creek/Wilson Creek Watershed, has started and will be facilitated by the Department of Ecology.
The TMDL will address water quality impairments in Crab Creek and its tributaries. Residents, landowners along streams in WRIA 43, and all other affected parties in the watershed are invited to participate and provide input to the TMDL. Input from the public is needed right away to answer the following two questions:
1.What type of TMDL approach should be used in WRIA 43?
2.Should a new advisory group be established to provide input from the citizens of WRIA 43 to the TMDL, or will the WRIA 43 Water Resource Management Group (WRMG) serve as the advisory group to the TMDL?
The TMDL process is separate from watershed planning in WRIA 43, but the WRIA 43 WRMG has decided to participate in the WRIA 43 TMDL. The next public meeting for the WRIA 43 TMDL will be held at the WRIA 43 Watershed planning meeting on Tuesday, March 18, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. in the downstairs meeting room at Lincoln County Public Works Building, located at 27234 SR-25 N in Davenport.
