CHENEY

Jan. 28

Harassment was reported on the 1300 block of Third Street. Investigation is still pending

Suspicious circumstances were reported on the 100 block of Fifth Street when an individual was witnessed running over garbage cans with a four-wheeler. Jody S. Dietz was arrested for hit-and-run.

Jan. 27

A wallet was found. The owner has been identified.

A traffic complaint was made on the 800 block of West First Street when a vehicle was blocking a lane of travel.

Jan. 25

Brice W. Leahy, 20, was arrested on the 100 block of Seventh Street for third-degree malicious mischief when he broke out the windows of a house after a fight broke out.

An injury hit-and-run was reported at Safeway. An older model white sedan was reported fleeing the scene, going east on SR-904.

An alcohol incident involving minors was reported on the 1800 block of Fifth Street. The case is under investigation.

Harassment was reported on the 1300 block of Third Street. The matter is believed to be a landlord and tenant dispute.

An agency assist was requested on the 1900 block of First Street. Assistance was needed with Child Protection Services (CPS) following up on a referral.

An agency assist was requested on the 2300 block of University Lane. Assistance was needed with CPS following up on a referral.

Jan. 24

An agency assist was requested on the 1100 block of Second Street when Spokane County Sheriff's Department arrested Paul R. Jensen, 28, for first-degree malicious mischief/domestic violence.

Harassment was reported on the 2600 block of First Street when an argument between ex-spouses started. It was determined there was no harassment.

A 16-year-old male was arrested on the 200 block of First Street for minor in possession (MIP) and fourth-degree assault/domestic violence.

Third-degree malicious mischief was reported on the 300 block of College Avenue when a sorority discovered their sign had been damaged.

Jonathan J. Cheeny, 28 was arrested at the Cheney Police Department on a felony warrant from the Spokane Police Department. Cheeny was transported to the issuing agency.

Jan. 23

Second-degree theft was reported on the 400 block of First Street when a wallet was stolen.

Suspicious circumstances were reported on the 1000 block of Salnave Road for possible child abuse. Claim was unfounded.

Jan. 22

An abandoned car was impounded on the 2500 block of Al Ogdon Way. The vehicle is a 1990 gray Nissan Sentra.

A 16-year-old student was arrested at Cheney High School for being in possession of a weapon. (knife).

A truant was arrested on the 1100 block of First Street.

Jan. 21

Suspicious circumstances were reported on the 2300 block of University Lane. A possible theft of prescription drugs was discovered.

Eric D. Williams, 18, was arrested on the 1500 block of Washington Square for driving under the influence (DUI).

Jan. 20

Jorge E. Quinones, 22, was arrested on the 400 block of Betz Road for third-degree driving while license suspended (DWLS).

Jan. 19

Trevor D. Robb, 19, was arrested at Pizza Hut for third-degree DWLS and possession of stolen property. He was caught with identification and a credit card.

Steven G. Baldwin, 59, was arrested on the 2700 block of First Street for DUI.

Vincent J. Ash, 48, was arrested on the 200 block of West Second Street for fourth-degree assault-domestic violence.

Jan. 18

Darcie A. Zickler, 50, was arrested on the 300 block of Fifth Street for felony hit-and-run/attended and DUI.

A 17-year-old male was arrested for third-degree theft at Mitchell's Harvest Foods for trying to steal beer.

A reckless driver was reported on the 3200 block of Meadow Glen Lane. The vehicle is described as a black 2000 Ford F-150.

Lindsay N. Kinney, 19, was arrested on the 800 block of West First Street.

A report of phone harassment was taken at the Cheney Police station.

An identification theft was reported on the 100 block of Fourth Street over the unauthorized use of a credit card.

Fourth-degree assault was reported on the 400 block of North Fifth Street. The incident is being handled by CHS.

A 12-year-old female was arrested at Cheney Middle School for possession of a controlled substance (marijuana)

A runaway was reported on the 1100 block of First Street. The juvenile returned home.

Kyle T. Carosella, 24, was arrested at the post office for the third-degree theft.

AIRWAY HEIGHTS

Jan. 27

Officers investigated an alarm at 11000 West McFarlane Road.

Police were called to a vehicle slide-off at West Highway 2 west of South Craig Road. A tow company responded to pull the vehicle out of the ditch.

Officers were called to check the welfare of a woman at 13500 West 6th Avenue.

A hit-and-run accident was investigated at 740 South King St.

Two disorderly males unhappy they did not receive their pizzas at 13500 West Highway 2 were escorted off the premises by officers.

Officers responded to a traffic accident at 100 North Hayford Road.

Jan. 26

Donald D. Cebula, 70, was arrested for second-degree DWLS at West Highway 2 and South Ziegler Street.

Cory S. Jacoby, 45, was arrested for third-degree DWLS at West Highway 2 and South Hayford Road. Jacoby was booked into jail on two Spokane County District Court warrants for third-degree DWLS.

Gregory M. Hafner, 42, was arrested for third-degree DWLS at South Russell and West Sprague Avenue.

Officers investigated a suspicious vehicle apparently broken down and parked on 11900 West Sprague Avenue.

Police were called to take a juvenile runaway report at 1700 South Lawson Street. While officers were on scene the juvenile called home to say she was at a school function and coming home.

Officers investigated a report of threats at 12800 West 14th Avenue and 700 South Ziegler Street.

Jan. 25

Police were called to Airway Heights Corrections Center for possible introduction of contraband.

Kevin R. Kuhl, 46, was arrested for third-degree DWLS at West Sprague Avenue and South Hayford Road.

Officers investigated a report of abuse at 400 West Fairchild Highway (Fairchild Air Force Base). It was determined to have occurred in Medical Lake and was transferred to Medical Lake Police Department.

Rhonda L. Darcey, 51, was booked into jail on the charge of fourth-degree assault for domestic violence at 700 South Ziegler Street.

Police contacted a resident of 1700 South Lawson and advised to turn down the music.

Jan. 24

Scott L. Anderson, 37, was arrested for third-degree DWLS at West Highway 2 and South Hayford Road.

Officers responded to a two-vehicle non-injury collision at West Highway 2 and South Loffler Street.

Jan. 23

Steven M. Lewis, 51, was arrested for third-degree DWLS at West Highway 2 and South Russell Street.

David M. Stone, 49, was arrested for third-degree DWLS and possession of marijuana under 40 grams at West 6th Avenue and South Solar Street.

Lyle W. Click, 28, was arrested for third-degree DWLS at West Highway 2 and South Lyons Road.

Jan. 22

Officers investigated a report of a green Dumpster being a traffic hazard at West 18th Avenue and South Lawson Street. The owners were contacted and the dumpster moved.

Police were called to 700 South Ziegler Street for an argument.

A complaint of a theft at 12300 West Highway 2 was investigated by officers. A juvenile admitted to taking candy and was trespassed from the store for one year.
