Cheney looking for new city attorney

Cheney City Administrator, Arlene Fisher, announced at the Jan. 8 City Council meeting that the city is accepting proposals for a city attorney.

The decision comes as a directive from Mayor Allan Gainer. Fisher said this is something the city wants as well.

Proposals will be due Feb. 1.

Frank Conklin has been the city attorney and is moving toward retirement. Conklin had delegated responsibility for Cheney issues and litigation to Dan Maggs, who recently retired and has left the area to be with family.
