Cheney Baseball Association meeting

Mat Hawk registration night will be Friday, Jan. 11 at 6 p.m. in the high school cafeteria. Wrestling shoe turn-in and check is also at this time. Registration fee is $40.

Cheney youth baseball camp has guests

Cheney Parks and Recreation Department brings Toronto Blue Jays first baseman Lyle Overbay and Minnesota Twins AA minor league prospect Brock Peterson to town for a one-day baseball youth camp.

The camp, takes place on Saturday, Jan. 12 at the Cheney High School gym. Sessions are: kids grades 4-6, 9 a.m. to noon; grades 7-12, 1-4 p.m .; as well as a coaches clinic from 8-8:45 a.m. Each camper receives a camp T-shirt.

Camp costs are $30 for Cheney residents and $32 for non-residents. Priority registration is currently being given to Cheney School District residents, with all others assigned to a waiting list. Call 498-9230 to register.

Proceeds go to the Cheney Baseball Association and West Plains Little League.
