Growth activity in the community is creating greater demand for several city departments in Airway Heights, which has officials proposing new funding strategies to the city's 2008 budget to meet the growing need for services, including a 1 percent increase to city property taxes and increases for water and sewer rates.
City Council members held public hearings on the city's preliminary budget Nov. 5 and 19, which presented estimated budget figures and funding sources for major city funds for 2008.
