Secret Witness is offering a $1,000 cash reward for information that results in the solution of a fatal hit-and-run collision that happened in downtown Spokane Sept. 30.
At about 7 p.m. that Sunday, a man and woman were refused service at a downtown bar, The Zombie Room. They had parked their white full-size Ford F-150 pickup in a reserved parking area at The Delaney Apartments, 242 W. Riverside.
Witnesses reported the pair getting into the pickup with the male driving. They reported the driver spinning his tires and then accelerating backwards into the lot's metal fencing and gate.
Seventy-seven-year-old Donald C. Seever was standing near the gate and was knocked to the pavement by the metal fence as it was smashed backward and down. He died of head and internal injuries 10 days later.
Told by witnesses that he had struck someone, the driver simply smiled, waved and drove away.
He was described as a white male in his mid-40s. He had a stocky build, brown hair and a mustache and possible goatee. He was between 5 feet 5 inches and 5 feet 10 inches tall. The female passenger was a white female in her 40s who stood 5 feet 4 inches tall and weighed about 140 pounds. She had wavy brown hair.
The Washington license plate on the white Ford pickup was B61183C. That plate returns to a 2004 model. The truck has not been located and may have been hidden.
