MLSD offers fall parenting classes
Interested in becoming a LOVE AND LOGIC parent? Please come join other parents from the Medical Lake School District to learn the parenting techniques that provide the tools to raising responsible children.
The first session of Love and Logic will begin on Sept. 27, from 6-7:30 p.m. in the library at Hallett Elementary and is entitled Raising Responsible Kids. ML firefighters holding raffle Oct. 1
Medical Lake Police Department's benefit raffle in support of the Washington Special Olympics is to be held Monday, Oct. 1, at 2 p.m. at Medical Lake City Hall in City Council chambers, located on the second floor. Raffle items include eight special prize packages with items totaling $180 to nearly $900 in value.
Raffle winners need not be present to win. Tickets are being sold NOW for only $1 each, so get them while they last!

Learn bird banding at Turnbull, Sept. 22
Saturday, Sept. 22, from 8 a.m. to noon, Turnbull Wildlife Refuge staff and volunteers invite you to come and experience the autumn songbird migration and learn the techniques used to capture and band these wonderful animals. Biologists will demonstrate bird capture by helping set up mist nets, and then how birds are safely removed, aged, sexed, weighed and measured, providing hands-on experience to the public as well.

There's still time to hit Cheney's Friday Farmers' Market.
Located on College Avenue between First and Second streets, the Market provides area residents the opportunity to browse and purchase a wide variety of regionally grown and prepared products as well as pieces and handcrafted goods from local artisans.
The Market is open from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., runs through mid-October, and is sponsored by Pathways to Progress.
