Washington will increase funding for its state financial aid programs by 82 percent over the next two years, according to a new report from the Washington Higher Education Coordination Board (HECB), which held its July 26 meeting at Eastern Washington University.
That's good news for students attending EWU, where some 78 percent of students are currently receiving some form of financial aid, according to university director of financial aid Bruce Defrates, who said this year the school expects to fully fund all those who qualify for state need grants (SNG).
