Fire destroys home
A fire, which started in the garage, destroyed a home Friday at 8215 S. Sherman, just off the Cheney-Spokane Road and east of Marshall. The fire began about 2 p.m. in the garage and was fully involved by the time firefighters arrived to put out the blaze. No one was injured, according to Bruce Holloway, District 3 fire chief. While the hot, windy day kept other fire districts busy, Holloway reported that District 3 only responded to a few small brush fires, one caused by a downed power line.
