    BASKETBALL Cardinal girls lose pair COLVILLE — The Medical Lake girls started their Northeast A League schedule and concluded the non-league portion of play in the same manner with losses. Medical Lake fell at Colville, 59-32, Jan. 16 in NEA play and then at Kettle Falls, Jan. 18, 52-30.     ACADEMICS EWU athletics GPA ‘streak’ now at 52 quarters CHENEY — The “streak” continues for Eastern Washington athletics after the department posted a GPA above 3.0 for the 52nd consecutive quarter. EWU’s student-athletes earned a combined GPA of 3.65 for the Fall Quarter from its 12 athletic programs. Eastern had 294 total student-athletes contributing to the department’s success.     Cross Country Men first, women third LEWISTON, Idaho — The Eastern Washington cross country teams had a strong showing at the Lewis Clark State Invitational, with the men finishing first with 38 points and the women finished third with 69 points.
