The Washington State Parks and Recreation Commission is seeking nominations to its Boating Safety Advisory Council. The commission is recruiting to fill three open seats on the Boating Safety Advisory Council in the areas of whitewater kayakers, personal watercraft owners and unaffiliated boaters. Jackee Stearns initially entered a not guilty plea at an arraignment in August to charges of residential burglary and third-degree theft. Initially projected to start accepting flows Oct. 6, the plant is now treating water at a low capacity. The Cheney Fire Department will set off on the annual Candy Cane Hayride through Cheney started at 4:30 p.m. Dec. 17.
