    Nailing their first five shots of the game, the Eastern Washington University women’s basketball team went on to beat Boise State, 74-63, last Thursday at Taco Bell Arena. Eastern was led by sophomore Lexie Nelson’s 20 points. With the win, Eastern snapped a two-game losing streak against the Broncos.     By JAMES EIK Staff Reporter Now that its first two matches in the books, the Cheney High School wrestling team has made some great strides in establishing its senior leadership. The team traveled to Aberdeen for a Dec. 1-2 tourney against a large number of regional teams, and walked away with a several first-place wins and close finishes.     Nick Reed at 106-pounds and 220-pounder Christian Koele each finished third as Medical Lake took a bare-bones team to last Saturday’s Ephrata Invitational. “We did not have our full varsity, some were taking their ACT tests and others were hurt,” head coach Sam Petersen said.
