    The third-ranked Football Championship Subdivision Eastern Washington University Eagles rallied to score a 35-28 Big Sky Conference football victory over the Portland State Vikings at Providence Park, Nov. 18. With the win, the Eagles (8-0 Big Sky, 10-1 overall) tied the University of North Dakota for the conference title. Eastern equaled its best regular season finish in 108 years of football and finished with its second unbeaten Big Sky season in 30 years in the conference....

    Eastern women are home Sunday The Eastern Washington University women earned their first basketball victory of the young season, topping Furman, 68-56 in the Preseason WNIT Consolation Bracket on Saturday, Nov. 19 in Mt. Pleasant, Mich. Senior Ashley Payne lit up the scoreboard from long range with a team-high 20 points on four 3-point shots to lead the Eagles.     Puls is first repeat winner Jim Puls from Reardan claimed the top spot in Week 7 of the 2016 Cheney Free Press football contest, earning a $50 merchant’s gift certificate and missing just one game.
