    Both the Eastern Washington men's and women's basketball teams have big shoes and roles to fill. Each needs to replace their program's all-time leading scorer. For the Eagle men that is Bogdan Bliznyuk who was the league MVP and an honorable All-American selection last season, finishing with 2,169 points in his career.     After playing their final regular season home game of their careers at Roos Field, cornerback Nzuzi Webster and kicker/punter Roldan Alcobendas were honored as ROOT Sports Big Sky Conference players of the week for their contributions to EWU’s 59-20 victory over UC Davis on Nov. 10.     Cheney High cross country runners took a trip to Portland to compete at the NXR Northwest Regional championships Nov. 10, running as team Pacific Pod. Bas Holland posted the highest place and time for the mens’ team. Running by himself in the 5,000-meter Open Championship race, the junior finished 47th overall out of 180 runners with a time of 16 minutes, 12.70 seconds.     The Cheney girls swim team gave an impressive performance at the state championships in Federal Way last week, bringing home 12th place overall and smashing a 28-year-old school record in the process. The team earned their spot out of 30 schools competing, and their ninth-place finish in the 200-yard medley relay broke a Cheney record dating back to 1990.
