The team that saw itself shutout in six of nine contests in 2016 suffered another blanking Sept. 22, 48-0 in a Northeast A League loss to Newport.     The Cheney High School Blackhawks football team had their first true Friday Night Lights experience at home last Friday, Sept. 22, against Eisenhower. Despite holding the Cadets to only six points, the Blackhawks took a 6-0 loss. Cheney was held to 151 total yards on offense with 76 passing yards and 75 rushing.     The Cheney High girls swimming team notched their first dual-meet win of the season with a 113-34 victory over visiting Clarkston last Friday at Eastern Washington University’s pool. The Blackhawks won eight of the 11 events, and went 1-2-3 in two. Lauren O’Callaghan, Juliet Richards and Courtney Hanson got Cheney going in the individual events with first-place finishes in the 200-yard freestyle, 200 individual medley and 50 freestyle.
