NEWPORT — The Washington State Patrol is asking for the public’s help in solving the cold case killing of Jack LaFond. “The anniversary of this homicide is coming up and the WSP cold case team is still working to solve this case, and bring the person(s) responsible to justice,” Sgt. CHENEY — Three people were transported to the hospital Tuesday night, Sept. 1, following a drunken driving-related crash. John R. Burton, 27, of Spokane, Edward K.
