    CHENEY -- Officials with the Washington State Department of Natural Resources are reporting that a fire which broke out this afternoon, Aug. 19, near Chapman Lake south of Turnbull National Wildlife Refuge now has a line around the entire perimeter of the 64-acre blaze. Crews will use the line to continue containment and mop-up operations. No evacuations orders were in place as of four hours ago.     CHENEY -- Despite smoke and flames several hundred feet away, some area water enthusiasts have reportedly been trying to launch their boats from the docks at Badger Lake.     CHENEY -- A series of small wildfires has grown into a 200-acre-plus blaze near Badger Lake about 15 miles south of Cheney. The fires began around 5:04 p.m. Sunday evening under hot, dry conditions, and are burning in grassy areas dotted with stands of ponderosa pine.     CLARKSTON-A 25-acre fire that had been contained has now spread across about 1,000 acres after overnight winds picked up. As of this morning, Monday August 17, the fire was zero percent contained. The original fire started off a motor home that caught fire on Wawawai Road, across the Snake River from Chief Timothy Park, about 4 p.m. Aug. 16.   • State mobilization for fires near Badger Lake

    CHENEY -- State mobilization has been approved for a series of fires burning near Badger and Williams Lake. The fires broke out several hours ago and have led to evacuations of residents in the area. According to the Stare Fire Marshal's Office, the fire is burning over 200 acres in the area, with Department of Natural Resources, Spokane County Fire District 3 and other area resources onsite. Williams Lake Road is closed, and DNR officials have told media sources that some structures are threatened....
