  • Turnbull Refuge allows youth waterfowl hunt

    The U. S. Fish and Wildlife Service will open Turnbull National Wildlife Refuge to a limited entry youth waterfowl hunt in Fall 2013. The two-day youth hunt will run concurrently with the State youth waterfowl season, usually the last weekend in September. Hunters will be restricted to a limited number (up to eight hunting sites) of fixed spaces depending on fall water levels.     Team Gleason is hosting a series of three trail runs throughout the Inland Northwest, and the next one is set to take place at 49 Degrees North, Sunday, Aug. 4. Proceeds from the trail run will benefit the Gleason Initiative Foundation as well as Spokane’s Crosswalk Teen Shelter.     A 45-day window of time for Dennis and Michael Myers to adhere to a court order and do general cleanup of their property at the former Fish Lake Resort passed May 1 without appropriate action. This past Monday, July 8, Spokane County District Court Judge Greg Tripp ordered the Myers brothers to serve two days in jail for still not being compliant with the March 18 order.
