    It was pretty much over shortly after it started for Medical Lake’s AA American Legion baseball team this past Monday in Suncrest. With Lakeside scoring six runs in the first inning, two more in the second and three in the third, the home team rolled to an 11-3 Federal League win.     If 50 is the new 30 then there’s good reason for the Lilac City Invitational Golf Tournament to have some new spring in its step. Given a new lease on life in 2012 with its renewal at The Fairways Golf Course after a five-year hiatus, this year’s 51st edition takes place over four days, July 10-13.     The Spokane Blue Devils accomplished quite a lot this past weekend and they did so with limited resources. The Senior AAA team finished second to Pac Tech from Longview/Kelso, Wash. in the Boys of Summer Invitational at Edward S. Medina Field in Belgrade, Mont.     The West Plains Bandits 14U softball team ran their Spokane Girls Fastpitch Softball Association league mark to 8-2, 12-3 overall with a sweep of the Liberty Lake Lightning Monday evening in Medical Lake. The Bandits scored in crooked numbers in each inning to down Liberty Lake 12-4 in game one, shortened to four innings via the 90-minute, doubleheader game one time limit, and scored five runs in the top of the seventh to seal a 12-3 win in game two.
