    A pair of recent graduates with degrees in biology — women’s basketball player Melissa Williams and track and field standout Jordan Arakawa — have been selected as Eastern Washington University’s recipients of the Big Sky Conference Scholar-Athlete Award for the 2014-15 school year. Williams is a 2011 graduate of Camas High School and Arakawa graduated in 2010 from Capital High School in Olympia.     The Cheney Storm FC U14 Premier League girls soccer team hit the road for a 10-day trip that included tournaments in Seattle and Cranbrook, British Columbia together with a little soccer development sightseeing. The Storm went 6-0-2 in games, beginning with the Starfire Sports 2015 Spring Classic in Seattle. The Storm actually played at the U15 level, going 1-0-2 in pool play June 12-14.     The Cheney Summerhawks 15U team had what was supposed to be a busy week turn into a short one, losing their only game to the Red Storm, 6-0, June 25. Against the Red Storm, head coach Nick Fell said Cheney's pitching performed better than in past games.     Matt Nichols’ Canadian Football League professional career has been full of injuries so far, but the former Eastern Washington Eagle might finally have his chance.
