    Medical Lake again lost the track war, but won some key battles May 10 at Colville in the final Northeast A League meet of the season. The ML boys lost to the hosts, 83.5–63.5 and to Lakeside 92–51.     One thing is certain in an up and down season for Medical Lake baseball in 2017. The Cardinals outpaced early expectations of a last place finish in the Northeast A League by finishing with an 8-7 record following a 7-1 loss to Colville, May 9, in the opening round of district playoffs.     Legans names associate head coach With seven years of NCAA Division I basketball experience, Nick Booker has been hired as the associate head coach on the staff of new Eastern Washington University men’s basketball head coach Shantay Legans.     History repeated itself as Cheney High tennis player Bridget Calvert won her second singles title at the District 7 tournament, May 13.     The Cheney Storm girls U17 (2000 age group) premier team accomplished their biggest feat to date by winning the Washington State Premier League 2nd Division (WSPL 2) league title.     Warren Thomas "Tom" Myers passed away in Spokane, Wash. on May 5, 2017 of natural causes after some years of failing health. Born in St. Paul, Minn., Tom spent his youth throughout the Midwest and completed most of his schooling in Madison, Wis. He enlisted in the Army in 1961 to become an armor mechanic and after Ft.
