    After a busy and productive week of baseball, the Medical Lake Cardinals can enjoy their spring break. With a pair of Northeast A League wins, 17-2 at Newport, March 31 and 7-4 over Chewelah, April 2, the Cardinals finished with split against Caribou Trail teams, Chelan, winning 6-4 and falling 10-4 to Cashmere, Saturday, April 4.     The Medical Lake boy’s track team finished second at the Deer Park Invitational, April 3. The Cardinals were outscored by host, and fellow Northeast A League member, Deer Park, 93.75-79.5, even though they ran distance runners in events in which they normally do not compete. A case in point was the Cards’ distance ace Domenic Rehm who served up a personal record in the 400 meters with a time of 52.28 seconds.     The Medical Lake girls softball team got the wins they needed, and tossed in what might be considered some critical live game practice along the way last week. The Cardinals finished the week 2-1, beating two Northeast A League foes handily before falling to West Plains rival, Cheney, in a nonleague contest. Medical Lake began the week March 31 with a 17-3 pasting of Newport in an NEA game and finished beating Chewelah 14-8 on April 3 to improve their league record to 2-0....

    The Cheney High boys soccer team had a busy week that included a 2-2 tie with University, March 30, a 2-0 shutout over Ephrata, March 31, and a 2-1 shootout loss to Great Northern League rival East Valley, April 2. This was the first league loss for the Blackhawks in four seasons.     Kenneth W. Bos, age 91, of Cheney, and a former Sunnyside, Wash. resident passed away Wednesday, April 1, in Sunnyside surrounded by his loving family. Kenneth was born in Sunnyside, the son of Reynard and Buelah (Larson) Bos. He is survived by one daughter, Jeanine Van Hollebeke of Sunnyside and one son, James Roy Bos of Idaho. He is also survived by several grand children and great-grand children.
