    CHENEY June 6 A 14-year-old male was arrested for possession of stolen property at Cheney Middle School. Incident was reported on June 3. A suicidal subject was involuntarily committed to the hospital on the 600 block of G Street. A wallet was taken from a vehicle on the 800 block of West First Street.     Norman Eugene Retherford, age 71, of Copperas Cove passed away Saturday, June 11, 2011 at his residence. He was born April 28, 1940 in Davenport, Wash. to Jesse Allen Retherford and Frieda (Radamacher) Retherford. He will always be remembered for his very outgoing personality and his ability to make friends wherever he went. He enjoyed working with metal and wood.     Agreement will allow some inmates to be housed at Lincoln County Jail By BECKY THOMAS Staff Reporter Cheney City Council approved an agreement with Lincoln County to send certain Cheney offenders to the Lincoln County Jail. At its Tuesday meeting, the council voted unanimously in favor of the measure, which aims to reduce jail costs for longer-term offenders.     Spokane County Raceway will host the third round of the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series beginning Friday and running through Sunday, June 19.
