    Storm changes Medical Lake hearings The Nov. 17 windstorm forced the Medical Lake City Council to postpone its final meeting of November, and in the process move its 2016 budget approval process back two weeks. The council was originally to have held its budget public hearings at the Nov. 17 and upcoming Dec. 1 meetings. Instead, they will conduct those hearings at the Dec. 1 and Dec. 15 meetings.     BNSF wraps up connection work with Palouse River tracks Burlington Northern Santa Fe crews have wrapped up a key element of the track work being done to upgrade the Palouse River Coulee City rail line from Cheney through Four Lakes to the Geiger Spur. Last week, BNSF crews finished a two-and-half-month long project upgrading one mile of track and a “Y” connection in Cheney it shares with the PRCC.     Airway Heights behind in property tax collections Airway Heights’ officials are waiting on a bit of money. According to the city’s latest financial report, the city is running at about 54 percent of its projected property tax collections for the period running Jan. 1 through Sept. 30. The city has collected $561,431 year to date of its budgeted $1,022,000 for 2015.     Medical Lake surpluses recycling equipment At their Oct. 20 meeting the Medical Lake City Council approved the surplusing and sale of a city-owned baler used to bale cardboard at the recycling center. Sunshine Disposal was the highest of three bidders on the baler, coming in with an offer of $2,900. The council also agreed to surplus a glass breaker used at the recycling center and set the method of disposal as sale to highest offer or donation.
