SPOKANE – A jury was unable to come to a verdict during the trial in which former Pasco police officer 57-year-old Richard Aguirre was accused of killing 27-year-old Ruby Doss in 1986. A mistrial was granted by Spokane County Superior Judge Maryann Moreno when jury members could not agree on a verdict after nearly 10 hours of deliberations last week. AIRWAY HEIGHTS – Goodwill Industries of the Inland Northwest recently announced plans to build a new 60,000-square-foot facility here. According to records, Goodwill Industries recently purchased 6 acres of land at the southeast corner of Deer Heights Road and Flight Drive for $770,000. MEDICAL LAKE – During Tuesday’s meeting, Dec. 21, the City Council amended the city administrator’s contract to use a new formula for severance pay. The existing contract stated the administrator would receive six months of severance pay upon termination.
