CHENEY – Woman who was arrested last month as a suspect for giving false information was arrested again with new charges last Thursday. Shawna Rae Langdon, 34, was booked into the Spokane County Jail for new charges of Malicious Prosecution (two counts), Intimidating a Witness, Tampering with a Witness, False Reporting, and Making False Statements to a Public Servant. Eiffert, 38, of Spokane, appeared in district court on Oct. 25 after allegedly fatally stabbing his father, Robert Eiffert, 61, on October 24 and later instigating a major freeway shutdown. Eiffert faces a second-degree murder charge and as of Oct. 29, second-degree identity theft charge with bail set at $2 million. CHENEY – The fire and police departments presented their budgets for 2025 to City Council during its Oct.22 meeting. Other city departments are scheduled to present their budgets at the Nov. 12 council meeting. In 2024, the Police Department operated on a $4.3 million budget.
