    The Cheney High boys and girls golf teams returned to competition April 25 at the third Great Northern League tournament held at Fairways Golf Course. The boys finished second in team scores with 448 strokes, six behind winner Pullman. In individual scores, Tyler Koohns finished in third place with 81. Nate Koohns shot a season best 82 to tie for fourth with Pullman’s Terry Bryne.     Young mothers, ages 12-16 years old, who need a little bit of help can find it in the form of the West Plains YoungLives club. The club, which is a part of the West Plains Young Lifes network, is a group that provides support and outreach to local teen moms and mothers-to-be. It currently meets on the first and third Thursdays of the month from 6-7:30 p.m. at Medical Lake Community Church annex. The group has its meetings during the school year, however it also coordinates playdates with mothers and babies in the summer....

During the April 18 City Council meeting, Mayor John Higgins informed council that staff might rent a paving truck to do some street patching. “There’s a good chance we’ll get a $50,000 grant from the governor and whatever else we throw in,” Higgins said.
