Cheney High School seniors Theo Petropoulos and Eric Igbinoba have signed letters of intent to play football at NCAA Division III Linfield College in McMinnville, Ore.
Igbinoba, 6-feet, 180 pounds, has signed as a wide receiver for the Wildcats. The 2013 graduate was a three-time All-Great Northern League first-team selection and a 2012 second-team All-State pick as a senior. He earned 11 varsity letters in football, basketball and track and was team captain in all three sports his senior season.
Petropoulos, 5-9, 175, signed as a kicker and was an All-GNL first-team selection as a senior, and had a season-long field goal of 46 yards. As a Blackhawk he was an honor roll student, team captain and earned seven varsity letters in football, basketball and track.
Linfield finished the 2012 season 11-1; it’s only loss a 31-24 upset by Wisconsin-Oshkosh in the NCAA Division III quarterfinals. The Wildcats visit Spokane Oct. 19 to take on conference rival Whitworth.
